Volunteering my time through service to my community has always been a top priority to me.  As a cultural studies and ethnic studies scholar, I am committed to our larger communities and making sure that I live out the politics of my work through grassroots interventions.  I have served on the Steering Committee for API Equality Los Angeles, an organization that advocates for marriage equality and the fair treatment of LGBT people within the Asian American community.  I have also served on the Board of the Media Action Network for Asian Americans advocating for better representation of Asian Americans in entertainment media.
